HVAC call. Checked in with MOD. Found FOH at 76 degrees. Went to roof. Inspected unit. Found 2 stages calling. Unit was using stage 1 compressor and economizer. Supply air temp was about 65 degrees. FOH has a lot of people and large windows. Disabled free cooling and allow both compressor stages to run. Space gets too warm this time of year to for only 1 stg. Both stages are running. Unit is operational. Call is complete.
Located ice machine and observed it cycle through the ice making process. Discovered upon arrival though, evaporator iced up, encased in thick ice. Ice cubes backed up from deflector up to top of evaporator and froze over. After observing a cycle and confirming I.M. harvest, melted ice off evaporator. Chemically cleaned plugged condenser coil. Inspected water inlet solenoid and cleaned float switch. MOD states ice machine was cleaned by staff a few days ago. Found thermostatic bin control installed incorrectly. Was told that bin control had slipped off during cleaning and was reinstalled. This may have caused ice to back up over up to evaporator and freeze back a few nights ago. Watched make 3 good batches of ice. Tested voltage at water valve during each harvest and confirmed both it and hot gas valve are working. Unit currently operational. Call complete.
