HVAC call for a Carrier Air Handler Unit. Inspected unit, and found water condensing at the steam coil. Found water in filters as well, but unit wasn't leaking from there. Made adjustments to blower to increase air flow, and now that blower is cooling much better. Space in dining room by thermostat dropped 6 degrees after returning unit to service. Will have someone return tonight to insulate the exterior of the steam coil in an effort to eliminate condensation there. Currently has a pan under to catch any condensate. Call is complete.

Refrigeration call for a Hoshizaki ice machine. Shown to unit which was off upon arrival. Spun fan blade and heard a soft tick from blade hitting shroud. Turned unit back on and watched unit start running a freeze cycle. Once condenser fan kicked on it started to violently hit fan shroud causing the awful noise that made the staff place the call. While looking into noise I found the condenser extremely dirty and the ice deflector was cracked in multiple places and there was a few pieces missing. Cleaned condenser and removed/replaced deflector tray. Watched unit run a couple freeze cycles to ensure everything worked properly and the noise would not return. Unit fully operational. Call is compelete.

Refrigeration call. Made my way to the main kitchen. Spoke with head chef, he said that the unit was working fine after the last visit but it for some reason is running warm again. Found that coil iced up. Tested the defrost clock to ensure that it was advancing, It was. Manually advanced the clock to ensure that the timer was able to defrost. It would go into defrost but the compressor would not shut off during that cycle. Checked the defrost clock and found that voltage was going to both the compressor and the defrost cycle. Grabbed a new defrost clock off of my truck. Returned back to the unit and jumped out the defrost cycle so that it would run until the coil was clear of ice. Once that was done I wired in the new clock. Turned the unit back on and allowed it to run. Tested defrost and the unit worked well. Watched unit pull down to 10 degrees before I left. Call is complete.

Refrigeration call. Upon arrival checked in with manger. Manger showed me freezer at 27 degrees. Coil completely iced up. Defrosted coil with hot water. System has EMS. Bypassed EMS and tested all defrost components. Everything checks out; heaters draw 5.76 amps. Put system back online and contacted ems service after getting a hold of them. I was informed that cooltrol lost connection with equipment on 4/12/18. This is the cause of system icing up. Ems controls the defrost cycle. Via tech support was told to follow their proto call and put system in mechanical mode. This allows system to run off mechanical time clock. I set time clock to go into defrost 4 times a day for 45 min. Tested function of time clock system is running properly at this time. EMS company will be out to diagnose their controller. In the meantime controller has to remain bypassed. System is operational at this time. Call is complete.
